I am more and more convinced that President Donald really does not remember what happened to his pandemic team in 2018. I do further start to believe that he does not realise any more that he is spreading one lie after the other. It might be something like beginning dementia or Alzheimer. His behaviour is not normal any more.

I hear Bernie has some upcoming free time.

Let's ask him to "volunteer" to be the COVID-19 Czar in the USA (donate his salary to match Trump).

Then implement his "COVID-19 Medicare for All" social experiment using the "$1,000 per family payout" being discussed.

That should give him about 300 billion dollars to work with - get that to all the government hospitals and government social sectors - money will just re-circulate as much as possible - and the US will have a great opportunity to do something productive.

Anyone have Bernie's number?

Bubi, I think that abject stupidity, is the cause, and this does not require a diagnosis, it's been obvious from day one.

As has been said, you don't know anyone as dumb as Trump, not even Cav.

we used to think the USA was a shining example how how to do things right, a bastion of common sense and fair democracy. Now, here's a sample from yesterday.

Rand Paul forced the Senate to delay a vote on a crucial coronavirus aid package. Paul forced a vote on an amendment that would “require a social security number for purposes of the child tax credit” that’s part of the larger COVID-19 response legislation. The amendment would also give Trump “the authority to transfer funds as necessary, and to terminate United States military operations and reconstruction activities in Afghanistan.” The amendment is not expected to pass. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said on Tuesday that the Senate would move at “warp speed” to pass the coronavirus legislation, but Paul’s amendment delayed the final vote until at least Wednesday. (NBC News)

Randal Howard Paul is an American politician and physician serving as the junior United States Senator from Kentucky since 2011. A member of the republican party. What possible constructive reason could anyone, let alone an American, have, to prevent action against the Pandemic, even by one or two days? If Trump had any control or sense, he'd boot this pleb from the government and get some action on the Pandemic as it affects the USA and the world. But Trump is not worried about the impending deaths, he just wants more cheeseburgers and TV time at the Whitehouse.

Trump’s federal personnel director quit her post with no notice yesterday. Office of Personnel Management chief Dale Cabaniss resigned in frustration after just five months on the job due to ongoing tensions with the White House budget office and with John McEntee, a 29-year-old political appointee and Trump loyalist the budget office installed at OPM in the last month. Cabaniss felt she was being micromanaged and that her authority was not respected. Cabaniss’s deputy, Michael Rigas, will take over as acting head of the agency. (Washington Post)

Surprise, that she's held out this long.

Trump plans to immediately turn back all asylum seekers and other non-U.S. citizens trying to cross the southwestern border illegally in order to reduce the spread of the novel coronavirus. Ports of entry will remain open to U.S. citizens, green card holders, select others with proper documentation, and commercial traffic. But under the new rule, Border Patrol will be under orders to immediately return back to Mexico anyone else who tries to cross the southern border between legal ports of entry. Asylum seekers will not be held at any American facility or given due process. (New York Times)

Of course. Ergo, the spike in bullet sales.

The U.S. and Canada are expected to make a joint statement in the next 24-48 hours announcing the suspension of all non-essential travel between the two countries. The details of the ban and the official definition of “non-essential travel” in this case have yet to be finalized, but officials said business and trade between the two countries will be allowed to continue. The restrictions would be mutual, unlike the current U.S. travel restrictions on Europe and China. (CNN)

Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin warned Republican senators that unemployment could reach as high as 20% if they fail to act on a proposed coronavirus rescue package. Mnuchin met with senators on Tuesday to urge them to vote for the $1 trillion aid package that would give cash to Americans within the next two weeks in order to help offset the economic damages caused by the spread of the coronavirus. An official from the Treasury Department said the 20% figure was not meant to be a forecast, but simply an illustration of what could happen if senators fail to act. (CNBC)

Are politicians in this 20% ?

...and WHO?

FLASHBACK Jan. 14: WHO Tells Everyone Don’t Worry Because China Says Coronavirus Isn’t Contagious

The World Health Organization (WHO) tried to cam fears of a pandemic on Jan. 14 by repeating China’s claim that coronavirus was not contagious among humans.

“Preliminary investigations conducted by the Chinese authorities have found no clear evidence of human-to-human transmission of the novel #coronavirus (2019-nCoV) identified in #Wuhan, #China,” the WHO tweeted...

I thought that was true only at the time, the statement was made and before the virus had passed through intermediaries that mutated it such that it became transmissible between humans. That's what can happen with such organisms. It was the truth when it was true even though its no longer true.

Trump just threw his hands up in the air and said that the Whitehouse didn't need to do anything, "I haven't seen that", "the Governors should do it", "let Mike answer", "we're not a shipping clerk..."

Hey Cav, is your chest swelling with pride?

BTW, if there is one person who could be a good President, it's  Katie Porter, she could take Hitler, she trashed Zuckerberg, and she would wipe the floor with Trump.

His residue of shit'n orange is unlikely to be cleaned very quickly.
