I'm now reading articles saying Trump is invested in the company that makes or markets the drug he is touting  All presidents have a blind trust in modern administrations. Not with Trump, he knows exactly where his money is. It could be coincidental and inconsequential or it could be by design. I'll tell you what. He gets away with more shit than anyone ever in his office. Largely due to his base simply not caring even if its true. As well as the Democrats being spineless.

The early reports are its useful, perhaps very useful. But to tout it the way its been is simply careless and dangerous. Especially considering it takes companies years to come up with cures. It's not the movies. Ebola has a cure of some sorts and look how long that has been around? Same with HIV.

He said it because he's concerned about his re-election and the economy is the key to his re-election in his mind.

Trump has a personal financial interest in the company that makes the brand-name version of hydroxychloroquine, the anti-malaria drug Trump has been touting as a “game changer” in the fight against the coronavirus. Trump and his family trusts are all invested in a mutual fund that features Sanofi as its largest holding. Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross and other associates of Trump also run funds that are invested in the pharmaceutical manufacturer. Trump has repeatedly ignored the advice of doctors and public health experts, who have warned him against promoting the drug due to the lack of evidence supporting its effectiveness. Trump’s economic adviser warned White House officials in January that there was “an increasing probability of a full-blown COVID-19 pandemic that could infect as many as 100 million Americans, with a loss of life of as many as 1-2 million souls.” In a pair of memos, Peter Navarro warned that the lack of a vaccine or cure for the virus “would leave Americans defenseless in the case of a full-blown coronavirus outbreak on U.S. soil.” In a Jan. 29 memo, Navarro called called for “an immediate travel ban on China.” In a second memo on Feb. 23, Navarro urged the Trump administration to immediately begin laying the groundwork for a $3 billion supplemental spending appropriation from Congress. “This is NOT a time for penny-pinching or horse trading on the Hill,” the memo reads. Trump waited several weeks after receiving Navarro’s memos before taking aggressive steps to mitigate the spread of the virus, and would later claim that “nobody could have predicted something like this.” (New York Times / Axios)

This is the same Navarro that was (as an economic advisor), screaming about his folders full of printouts from websites, as being "Science" in the "heated argument" (over the validity of hydroxychloroquine as a cure for the cover-19 virus) with Dr Anthony Fauci. I think he was toeing the Trump line, to keep his job, at this point, after becoming very unpopular, for warning the administration about the "probability of a full-blown COVID-19 pandemic" - above, which turned out to be true.

Sen. David Purdue bought stock in a company that makes personal protective equipment on the same day he received a classified Senate briefing on the spread of the virus in the U.S. Purdue made a series of 112 transactions, 82 of which were made on March 3. Of those, 76 were purchases totaling up to $1.8 million and 34 were stock sales of up to $825,000. A spokesperson for Purdue said he “has always had an outside adviser managing his personal finances, and he is not involved in day-to-day decisions” about his portfolio. Purdue is one of several lawmakers — including his fellow senator from Georgia, Kelly Loeffler, and Sen. Richard Burr of North Carolina — who is facing questions about their trading activity in the wake of the outbreak. (Atlanta Journal Constitution / Business Insider)

And just in:

The Navy guy has quit, after his dissing of the Navy Captain, resulted in Trump losing support of core voters, being Sailors and all.

Trump is making a grab for the 2 trillion in virus relief, by effectively ousting the overseeing bloke and installing his own.

Just watching Trump's daily waffle in front of cameras.

The WHO is the enemy of mankind according to Trump: The WHO got it wrong every time, so many times.........

Trump has unlocked the miracle of Science.

Question time shortly, ventilators, Trump told them to go "top of the line"

The Navy captain has gone from "doing a disgusting thing", to "making a mistake, having a bad day".

Trump just said that he "closed it down" at the same time as Navarro's memos, which he said he'd never seen. He also was also asked why he was minimising the risk at that time, so he said he "closed it all down" "I didn't see it I closed it all down, the WHO said we shouldn't close it all down, I did what the memo said, it was a good memo"....  "we're not gonna lose millions of lives we're gonna lose a lot of money".

"Since then Joe said he was wrong and then he said I was right" and " The morning show hosts are hiding the tape where they said terrible things"....

"Social media said, they seem to be very China centric and we fund it" (WHO)

"Tremendous evidence that Africa Americans are affected by far greater.......so much, numerous times more, "

Don't buy a dead rat from this shyster

Trump: "We're gonna put a hold on funding, a very powerful hold..."

Reporter: "Is now the time to putting a hold on the funding in the middle of a Pandemic?"

Trump: "I never said we were going to put a hold, I said we'd look at it...."

LA Doctor Uses Hydroxychloroquine And Zinc To Treat COVID-19 Patients

As the left continues attacking the drug, physicians around the country are finding it helpful

A Los Angeles, California doctor claims his COVID-19 patients are going from “very ill” to “symptom-free” in 8 to 12 hours using a treatment consisting of a combination of zinc and hydroxychloroquine.

That’s right, yet another doctor is publicly standing by the use of the drug promoted by President Trump to successfully treat patients.

Dr. Anthony Cardillo, an ER specialist and the CEO of Mend Urgent Care, has been prescribing the drug combination to those suffering from severe symptoms.

“Every patient I’ve prescribed it to has been very, very ill and within 8 to 12 hours, they were basically symptom-free,” he stated Sunday on KABC-TV. “So, clinically I am seeing a resolution.”

Explaining how hydroxychloroquine works in collaboration with zinc, Dr. Cardillo says the drug “opens the zinc channel” and allows it to enter the cell where it then “blocks the replication of cellular machinery.”

Is that even possible? in this context, cells are biological, not machines.

Cells don't have machinery - Cells consist of  cytoplasm enclosed within a membrane, which contains many biomolecules such as proteins and nucleic acids. Not a machine in sight.
