Rand Paul again rips Dr. Anthony Fauci over coronavirus: 'We just need more optimism'

U.S. Sen. Rand Paul attacked Dr. Anthony Fauci on Tuesday over the United States' coronavirus response in round two of a confrontation between the junior senator from Kentucky and the nation's foremost COVID-19 public health expert.

During a Senate committee hearing in Washington, D.C., Paul, a Republican and frequent supporter of President Donald Trump, criticized Fauci for a lack of "certitude" when it comes to advice on whether children should be allowed to go back to school in the fall amid the pandemic.

"Guess what — it's rare for kids to transmit this," Paul said, pointing to examples from Belgium, Germany and France, among other countries. "But I hear nothing of that coming from you. All I hear, Dr. Fauci, is 'we can't do this, we can't do that, we can't play baseball.' Well, even that's not based on the science...

...and the demonrats AGAIN!!!

After Crime Rises Across The Nation, Pelosi Leads Democrats To Unanimously Vote Against Resolution Condemning It

Weeks into protests and riots, crime has been rising across the nation, and Congress wants it to come to an end soon.

Many of our nation’s police are calling out with the “blue flu” because, even with their difficult jobs, they are being painted as the bad guys and some politicians are not standing up for them.

Republicans put forward a resolution to condemn the violence and the calls to defund the police. Guess how Pelosi and her House Democrats responded?

From the Washington Free Beacon:

House Democrats unanimously blocked a resolution condemning acts of violence and rioting—including the “deliberate targeting of law enforcement officers”—in the wake of George Floyd’s death.

The resolution, which was introduced by Rep. Greg Steube (R., Fla.) late Thursday morning, condemned Floyd’s killing at the hands of police, calling it “inconsistent with the values and conduct expected of law enforcement officers.” The resolution also supported peaceful protesters, but it noted that protests have been “exploited by violent extremists” carrying out “acts of violence, looting, destruction of business and personal property, and additional loss of life.”

Even Justin Amash, the Republican turned Independent, and for a short time a Libertarian candidate for President, stood with Republicans on this one.

The optics on this will not be helpful to the Democrats. They seem to have aligned interests with Black Lives Matter, even using the same platform for fundraising.

A compilation of conservatives as well as Trump either minimizing covid 19 or dismissing it altogether. But we are to believe they did all they could to keep Americans safe from it? LOL. The level of 'don't believe your lying eyes', is surreal.

I watch English football and the first week back they replaced names on the back with Black Lives Matter and there is a big banner saying the same at the clubs. At this point, its shampoo out the bottle, not going back in. Doesn't really matter what the right wing narrative is, the court of public opinion has rendered their view benign. I saw a recent polling that the phrase or sentiment of BLM is now higher than Trump in popularity. So, really, moot point even debating it. The world has decided already the far right are wrong.

There are two main reasons why America is the only industrialized nation without a truly comprehensive national healthcare system. The first is money in politics. The healthcare industry is extremely powerful. Big Pharma, HMOs, the AMA (American Medical Association) that is basically a doctor's guild, etc. They all thought they would make less money and they fought it. These industries have the most influence with the Republicans but they do have a say with both parties. The Dems took out things because of health industry pressure.

The second reason is that the Republicans did not want Obama to have any success even if it was good for the nation. Obamacare was watered down. The GOP fought it as if their life depended on it and so the Obamacare we got wasn't the one that was envisioned. The circular argument went like this. The Republicans watered it down and took out its teeth and then criticized it for being ineffective.

The current pandemic and needs of the people are reversing that.
