Usa Thread

Recommended Posts

Gentlemen, a judge somewhere in Texas ruled to keep the places open which some swine of a governor had ordered to close, obviously to prevent voters to vote for Biden due to their local possibilities accessing these places . As a believer in the US,  activities of this type give some hope that the US are not yet totally fucked .

Just for history's sake to mark the event Trump just held at the Whitehouse.

Trump invited 2,000

https://www.nytimes.com/2020/10/10/us/elections/trump-sent-more-than-2000-invitations-for-an-event-on-the-white-house-lawn-on-saturday.html

"several hundred' turned up

https://www.bbc.com/news/election-us-2020-54493575

I was listening to BBC radio and they said he spoke for 15 minutes (now that's not like Trump, multiple hours, is normal)

The brief sound, I heard of him speaking, was all the same old tropes, but read out, like a teen wanting to get through the list quickly...

I don't think he's well, despite all the pills...

edit:

or -  I don't think he's well, because of all the polls...

Call me a cynic, some of the people in the photo below look like kids earning $100.00

and special chromium topped flag poles? That's a marketing person's idea for sure.

America is a left of center country. Not too far left of center but majority wise, its absolutely left of center and mostly Democrats. The whole narrative that Democrats will rig the actual votes is bullshit. They don't need to. The Democrats number one problem is getting enough Democrats registered to vote and actually voting. Once they are at the polls and mailing in their votes they are fine. There is no need to commit fraud at that point. The Republicans know this and ANY accusations of Democrats altering votes on any organized scale is utter bullshit meant to put in question any election that they lose.

The only thing a Republican should worry about is getting people to register and vote. Republicans mainly try to stop people, usually in majority Democrat areas from trying to register and making it very inconvenient to vote. Its their main move. I completely understand it. If people voted in numbers, Republicans would lose. Again, its why the Republicans are far, far better at politics. They have no choice. They must be so for survival on a statewide and national level. There are no states that are going from blue to red. There are states going from red to blue. Wyoming has 59 percent of the state as registered Republicans. That's the 'reddest' state. Only 59 percent and population-wise not significant for presidential elections.

If the Democrats were smart (and they aren't), they would have a long term plan to make it as easy as possible for everyone to vote, all voters. In that way, they avoid any charge of bias. Make registration in Republican areas as easy Democrat areas. If everyone can vote easier, they would win. Republicans will always vote at a higher percentage but it won't matter.

As for the Republicans, I would go after niches that are predominantly Democrat. Niches that would be open to parts of the ideology. Asians, Arabs, yes Arab Americans, middle class Blacks, Latinos, Catholics, Mormons, Eastern and Orthodox Christians (Armenians, Greeks, etc) and Jews. In order to do that they would obviously have to change their anti immigrant and anti Moslem rhetoric. Its a fine line, because the Republicans core support are white males. A niche that is steadily getting smaller demographically.

The FBI and media are reluctant to state this but there is a fairly large number of law enforcement across the country that are either in these far right militia groups or sympathetic. They know if they say the extent, the BLM movement would be legitimized and that's the last thing they want. It already is legitimized to a large extent or the sports teams, and other institutions wouldn't be publicly supporting it but if they showed the extent of law enforcement as well as elected politicians at various levels support, then the conservatives would have no argument.

Antifa is a temporary problem in a specific issue. They aren't ongoing or even large. They have been infiltrated. The FBI and the government has always been more anti left towards groups than anti right. It took the FBI the bombing of a black church in the Civil Rights movement to do anything about the KKK. But they went after socialists and communist groups, unions (which were regarded as socialists) early. The right wing groups have done the huge lion's share of violence but the government considers the left its biggest threat. They have to check the far right groups because they commit domestic violence and that can't happen. If it does, it will throw the middle class firmly to the left.

So, if I am understanding this correctly, tRump will reject a foreign terrorist group but will accept domestic terrorist groups (Proud Boys, other right wing / alt right groups) because they can vote for him? So, if the Taliban could actually vote for him, he may consider them?

'We reject their support': Trump campaign strongly declines Taliban endorsement for his 2020 reelection

A representative of the Taliban said the group supports President Donald Trump's reelection on Friday, according to CBS News.

"We hope he will win the election and wind up US military presence in Afghanistan," Taliban spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid told the news organization.

Mujahid reportedly added that it approved of the Trump campaign's "America first" slogan. Trump has mentioned the phrase in numerous speeches throughout his presidency and campaign.

"It is the slogan of Trump from the start that they are not cops for the world and don't want a single flag and anthem for the globe, but their priority is America," Mujahid said to CBS News.
