Hollyweird....again...are the prosecutions of the players in Hollyweird starting for real???

'Smallville' star released on $5 million bond, working on plea deal in alleged sex-cult case

Allison Mack will be released on $5 million bond stemming from sex-trafficking charges, Yahoo Entertainment confirms. She will serve home detention with electronic monitoring until her next court date.

The Smallville star was in federal court in Brooklyn on Tuesday where Mack’s mother, Melinda Mack, put up her home in Los Alamitos, Calif. as collateral, in addition to property and a bank account owned by Allison Mack. According to Variety, Allison Mack will live with her parents during home detention.

Last week, both Mack and Keith Raniere were charged with sex trafficking, sex-trafficking conspiracy, and forced-labor conspiracy due to their involvement in an alleged sex cult. The 35-year-old actress allegedly recruited women as sex slaves for a secret “sorority,†called DOS, within the self-help group, NXIVM. Raniere, the founder of NXIVM (pronounced “Nex-e-umâ€) and alleged cult leader, was arrested last month...

I see Cohen is taking the 5th.

I also saw an interesting discussion on what happens when any Federal Employee takes the 5th. What happens is, that as a private citizen, any Federal Employee can take the 5th, but they are then fired on the spot.

Presumably the POTUS is a Federal Employee. Despite the assumption by Trump, that POTUS = King of the world....

Trump's comments cause him legal headaches — again

In a matter of about 90 seconds in a "Fox and Friends" interview, Trump appeared to undercut Cohen's claim that he acted on his own in paying $130,000 to porn actress Stormy Daniels before the 2016 election and managed to weaken his own attorneys' arguments in an ongoing fight over records the FBI seized from Cohen's home, office and hotel room.

"It's just a complete nightmare for his lawyers," said Ken White, a former federal corruption prosecutor based in Los Angeles. "The problem isn't just what he specifically admits in these statements. It's constantly generating inconsistent statements about issues that are going to be litigated, and that's what he has been doing."

"For his lawyers, it must be like watching your toddler play in traffic," White said. "You've got a client completely out of control."

Jeez this is funny:

Well worth the read:

and before anyone screams 'fake news' and starts banging sticks on tree roots, this is Trump himself, on that most honest and true of media, Fox and Friends.

Former Mob Prosecutor to Get First Look at Michael Cohen’s Seized Files

In court, a lawyer for Cohen praised the appointment by U.S. District Judge Kimba Wood, calling it a “wonderful choice.â€

Wood chose Jones, a former colleague, after prosecutors said they would agree to the use of a so-called special master. Jones was not among the seven names that federal prosecutors and defense lawyers for Cohen proposed for the post.

Another retired judge in New York, Shira Scheindlin, praised the appointment. Jones had a “very deep background in criminal law†when she became a judge after serving beside longtime Manhattan District Attorney Robert Morgenthau and as a mob prosecutor, Scheindlin said.....

Purely for curiosity, here's Michael Cohen's 5th amendment plea: https://www.documentcloud.org/documents/4447050-Clifford-v-Trump-Cohen-Declaration-042518.html

Now I for one have never read, one of these, interesting thing it is.

I am given to understand, that pleading the 5th, does not protect him from prosecution, or conviction, in these matters, only from testifying.

So he won't make things worse, or better, but can still be convicted and the evidences gained, by other methods and or sources, will still be public.

I just saw the best line, I've seen in a long time, in the televisual extravaganza. It made me laugh so much, MLG had to check and see if I was OK....

In reference to the stunning/stupid revelation, made by Trump on Fox, that Cohen did indeed represent him in the Stormy Daniels matter,

"Even a dog knows, when it's being tripped over, and when it's being kicked".

Trump: "No campaign funds were used in the $130,000 payment"

So it looks like he does know where the money came from....

Jeez I hope Trump keeps talking out loud, if he went silent, I'd lose my entertainment....
