Coss
It would have, could I have continued it, been pretty much sober since.
TheCorinthian
Curiously, I've been on the protein only, no carb diet for a while now lost 14Kg - no gout at all Same here. I will routinely go on high protein, zero card diets as a training method. Never a problem with gout.
Coss
" training method" does that involve running up mountains? But seriously, what are the effects or benefits of exercise when protein-ing ?
Bangkoktraveler
Look at this way Coss, some famous people had gout. If Christopher Columbus didn't have a gouty arthritis would he have found the New World? If Benjamin Franklin didn't have a gout attack when they were investigating Merser's healing techniques, we might being using hypnosis instead of anestheia for major operations such as amputations. Bangkoktraveler
If I didn't have Gout, would I have had pain in my feet? I can't say but you were not abducted by aliens? Gout once was considered the rich man's disease. Unfortunately I never understood how a higher uric acid level could be construed to reflect something of wealth. Central Scrutinizer
" training method" does that involve running up mountains? But seriously, what are the effects or benefits of exercise when protein-ing ? Exercise will increase your weight loss on a high protien/low-no carbs diet. Problem being you can become tired and lethargic on that sort of diet, at least for the early stages of it.

TheCorinthian
But seriously, what are the effects or benefits of exercise when protein-ing ? The major benefit is to quickly cut body fat while maintaining lean mussele mass. When we go on an opp there can be sever wight restrictions in place. So every pound of body fat gone is a pound of bandades or bullets you can jump off with. In fact, this summer I will be at the Mt Warfare Training center in NV teaching just this type of class. CS is right also, that the cut in carbs makes you want to go to bed until your body does the gear switch to burning stored fat. And that sucks! What you will see a lot of our guys do is down a powerbar once we step off, and shoot the carb level back up for the mission.
