dingsbumst69
i heard that the maximum amount youre allowed to withdraw is 20000.00 Thai baht using ATM machine so if you have lets say 845.00 in a American bank account you should be able to take out the entire amount in Thai baht in Thailand using a ATM machine correct? Pom Michael
Two things to understand here. 1. Thai ATM's limit on the number of bills per transaction. Some are 20, others 25 - so that means a maximum of 20,000 baht to 25,000 baht. Doesn't seem to happen much anymore (at least around this area) but in the past have had times when the ATM only had 100's left - so that meant a max withdrawal of 2,000 THB. 2. Your overseas bank limit. Check with your bank before you come over. Raise the limit per transaction to 1,000 and you should be covered. 3. Be choosy on the ATM you use - a few (like Citibank Asoke) don't charge the THB 150 fee.
khunsanuk
Hi, As PM said, with one more comment. That limit is per transaction. So, you could withdraw 20K, take the card out, stick it back in and withdraw more money. Not sure what the daily withdrawal limit is. Sanuk! Torneyboy
I think that depends on "his" bank..

You are mistaken PM The 20K limit is the dafault value, if you speak to the bank you can up it, I had my BBL Account upped to 100K and Kasikorn at 75K. As for a foreign card the limit is set by the bank you have the account with not Thai Banks Kong
LizardKing
You're both correct. BTW, the only ATMs in Thailand I have found that allow 25 bills at one transaction are Bangkok Bank's.
WorldFun
citi do 30 bills actually aka 30k & if free too well but sometimes the many bills gets fucked up & you end up with a larger 'bill' than number of bills in your hand 555+
LizardKing
Hmmm. I tried at the Asoke branch of Citi and it would only give me 20. Had to do 2x withdrawal, I did. But no issue because as you said, free of the B150 charge. And my US bank is also free.
