I was still working full time but passing thru and staying several months every year in LOS. The USD was quite high vs the Baht, so was cheap as dirt for me, plus I was usually on the company expense account.

Seemed easier to jump in a taxi and get around the city, now seems the traffic is in a constant jam.

BTS was great and the MRT was not yet...if my lone brain cell remembers that correctly.

The first half of 2005 is infamously empty space on the shelf of my memory collection - though it was fun, crazy and in many ways an exceptional time! The final six months of two years working a great job in Bangkok during the day, and burrowing into the darkest corners of the night-time shadows, right up until the very last day... which had to be rescheduled when I missed my flight after a morning partying at the dismal, joyful Lao Chalern Petburi 45 upstairs after hours place...
