TheCorinthian
Why do you want to give yourself cancer? Get a Z-Pack and if that does not work, go to an MD and get checked out.

Coss
What is flagyl and what's it for?
TheCorinthian
the problem is painful urination however i have not noticed any discharge no fever Get a z-pack (Azithromycin)or macrobid. Both simple to get. What is flagyl and what's it for? It is a trade name of a broad spectrum antibiotic that just happens to cause cancer. It is effectively banned from use because of this and I am surprised that the OP had heard of it.
iuytrede
Flagyl is a brand name for metronidazole it is not a broad spectrum antibiotic, it is useful for trichomonas, anaerobes, Gardnerella it does not cause cancer in humans, it causes cancer in rodents it is not effectively banned, it is very common every pharmacy has it OP should see a doctor anyway
Specialist
Geeze, guys. Google is your FRIEND. From Wikipedia: "In Thailand it is marketed as Mepagyl by Thai Nakhorn Patana."
Specialist
Flagyl is metronidazole. It is one of the preferred antibiotics for C. dificile infection. It is the preferred antibiotic for trichomoniasis (2000 mg single dose). It has been shown to cause cancer in lab animals. It has not been shown to cause cancer in humans, and is considered safe for humans. It is not banned in humans. It *IS* banned in animals, *BECAUSE* it is an IMPORTANT antibiotic for humans, and the Powers That Prescribe would prefer not to breed bacterial strains resistant to it. I'm with the other guys. Talk to a doctor, get yourself checked out first. "Painful urination" could be a lot of things. (Note: Flagyl is NOT effective against gonorrhea.) TheCorinthian
FYI: We are not allowed to dispense it except as an alternative due to the lab tests. So, I would recommend something different. But, as I said before, I would also see a Dr instead of polling we who only play Dr.
Nervous God
Corinthian, you challenging Cav for the tin hat award? I took it for Gardnerella I think, and I'm ok
