MooNoi
Just booked my flight SYD - BKK - SYD with Emirates for August 04. $882.00 AUD round-trip including taxes and fuel. Very happy with that! Emirates are one of the few airlines who will include the fuel surcharge in the airfare. Got to give them credit for that.
ozpharlap
Indeed, a very nice price. I recently used my points for Singapore Airlines and it still cost me $
gobbledonk
Thanks for the tip, Mr Piggy - I'll be in the seat behind you Just when the mums and dads thought it was safe to go back to the airport for the Oz school holidays, merriment erupts: http://www.news.com.au/travel/news/brisbanes-domestic-airport-terminal-evacuated-after-security-screening-failure/story-e6frfq80-1226087166696 http://www.adelaidenow.com.au/travel/news/tiger-airways-in-danger-of-extinction-in-australia/story-fn3015fd-1226086739427 Personally, I have considered Tiger's days to be numbered for months - I just dont see how you can conform to all the costs the go with flying in Oz for the fares they were charging - not without significant sacrifices on the part of the parent company, and I dont know that SA are making so much money that they can do that. They will join a long list of carriers who have tried and failed.
MooNoi
Tiger is a totally dead duck in Australia. Also, be prepared for a VERY big announcement from Qantas in August. Not 100% sure what it is, but the rumour mill in the travel industry is abuzz. Lots of suggestions, including Jetstar is going to take over ALL Qantas international operations except for Sydney/Melbourne - London, Sydney/Melbourne - LAX and Sydney/Melbourne - Shanghai. Watch this space - you heard it here first!
gobbledonk
Sensational stuff - I hope. Not sure whether I would want anything longer than DRW-BKK on Jetstar, but Qantas charge a bomb for their intl flights and are reportedly in pretty deep doodoo financially.
