I tried to buy a ticket from Udon back to Bangkok and was told it was full. 3 airlines, if I remember right. I knew Thai had First Class so asked about that and it had seats. I didn't know I had to specify and I was just asking for a seat, any seat, the first time. Anyway, TIT and I finally got on. My point, I guess, is that it can be full so maybe call ahead first and make sure the flight you want is open before making the trek to the airport.
