ozpharlap
Is there any restrictions on buying Thai owned condos in a foreign name, if the actual condominium building still does not infringe the 49% rule as to foreign ownership within the building? Alternatively, is it the case that once Thai owned, it must remain Thai owned?
eyebee
I bought my condo from a Thai and it was transferred into a foreign ownership by the Land Registry. However, this was back in 2003 when the foreign quota for Bangkok and Pattaya was 100%. The law changed a few months later back to the previous 49%. ozpharlap
Thanks for the update, as it opens up more potential, even if i consider doing something with a Thai ... I will always qualify what I do with a lawyer, but armed with some basic facts means I can do a lot more searching before committing to a purchase
