Thailand Internet Screwed Up - Again!

Seems like every few weeks the dipsticks have to mess with the Internet

here in LOS :dunno:

The past week, I have to click my way thru timeouts until a connection

to the website is finally made, usually 3 ~ 7 times.

The sites within LOS seem to be OK, but any site, including Thai360, that

is outside LOS will take extra clicks and time before connecting.

I am using TOT but tried a friend's wireless internet in his apartment building

and the same crap.

What's up? censoring? some server with a filter/file list of sites that have

forbidden access?

Well...imagine that. Those of us that tire of this highly common [and frequent] activity just go with it. There's nothing one can do, aside from not participating or complying.

It's so bladdy universal - the f*ck ups. I reside in Thailand, yet commute frequently throughout Asia and America. Doing extensive online work with Thai-related or Thai-based sites, regardless of where I am, I find that they are the most inconsistent working systems around.

I tried to log on this morning around 8am to read the board with my cup of coffee. Couldn't connect to the internet. I checked all of my connections ... no problems on my end. Damned True Internet was down! It came back maybe around 9.30am. Nothing to do but wait the bastards out. :banghead:

Hi,

My guess it is a combination of ineptide, ignorance and just plain not giving a fuck.

Years ago I spoke to the guy who had just taken over as head of technology at KSC (whatever happened to them?). He asked the staff to show him the load on the different internet servers, what the got was a lot of blank stares. Nobody had any idea about how much load each of the servers had, let alone about load balancing.

Sanuk!

...<snip>..Is it some new censorship being implemented?

Censorship...or more likely Thai incompetence.

To no ones surprise, it's not just random failed connections but also the sporadic regulation of BitTorrent connections.

OTOH, maybe much of the problems are with the user's particular ISP?

I've been with BBB (formerly TT&T) for 6-years and _rarely_ have had a problem with connections or torrent d/l's.
