How deep does it have to get for the water to start trickling down the steps and into the stations? Just an idle boggle as I sit here twiddling my thumbs. WorldFun Posted October 26, 2011 Report Share Posted October 26, 2011 not a pretty though being flooded down in the mrt for sure the entry of each station if im not mistaken is elevated somewhat probably to avoid easy flooding. however probably not enough to prevent flooding if the in the 0,5-1m range I'd say. also I haven't seen an 'doors' that can be shut? anyway i'm sure there's a sandbag or 2 at each station to keep situation under control Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

No sign of any sandbagging anywhere that I could see, nor really any need for it. The greater concern is how much water does it take to flood the BTS! . Pom Michael Posted October 26, 2011 Report Share Posted October 26, 2011 The MRT was designed with flood levels at 100 (maybe 1,000) year historical records - it was widely publicized during the opening period - should be easy to find on Google. I see they (BMCL) saying that all levels are 2 meters above street level and each entrance has a "stop log" another 1 meter to keep water out. It seems there is slight gap between what we Farang think how essential infrastructures should be maintained and how it is done LOS. Current events bring this gap very much to light...
