We spend a lot of time harpooning the girls for their many faults, and I'm not here to apologise for the antics of illiterate gals from upcountry. What I would do is pose an alternate universe:

 

Lets assume you are back in Farangland, somewhere in your mid-twenties, partying hard and generally not too concerned about 'the future'. You lose your job, think 'good riddance', but soon realise that being on the dole isn't much fun. You know a few guys who seem to be able to hang out at various pubs and clubs without a care in the world, and you give one of them a call.

 

He tells you 'Its easy - all you have to do is chat up a few old Russian tarts and they give you money and buy you drinks !'. Great - how hard could it be, right ? Just another night in a bar, but someone else is buying your drinks and you get a few dollars into the bargain - fantastic stuff.

 

By now, you can see where I'm going with this - how long would it be before you had zero respect for the Russian women (hey, its a Farang Pattaya, ok ?) who keep you in the style to which you want to become accustomed ? How long before you cant manage a smile, much less laughter, without getting completely shitfaced ? You still see some of the people you used to hang out with, but they don't want anything to do with you, and they particularly don't want anything to do with your new 'girlfriends'. The few that speak English are boring in the extreme, and it soon becomes clear that it would be a lot easier to take money from them than earn it the 'hard way'. Sure, they might keep sending you a few rubles when they get home, and you know you can line up a few more on the Net, but inevitably you find one who thinks she 'owns' you - fuck that, right ? What the hell would a young stud like yourself want with a 55-year old housefrau from St Petersburg ? Sure, I'll keep you warm on those long Winter nights, Natasha .....

 

I'm being pretty harsh on Russian women here, but I had to pick a single group to try to drive home my point - I just couldn't do the whole whore thing, even if it didn't involve sex : I just cant be nice to people I have no interest in spending time with. In many ways, the short-time specialists really have it nailed - maximum income for minimal 'face time' - but I can see how so many become hard after a very short period in the industry. Sure, they have to provide for their families, unlike my carefree example, but at what cost ?

 

Whatever lies beneath the veneer, in general the Thais do hospitality better than most, even if they have to fake it - in my case, I couldn't fake it without getting hammered every night, and that would make for a very short career in the nightlife industry. Just as well I have this trust fund to fall back on.

I regard to BGs faking hospitality (and sensuality I should add):

 

I remember a meeting at Los Cabos, when a board member told me about a recent HIV study with Thai prostitutes in northern Thailand. He said the most astonishing finding was how many of the BGs had traces of drugs in their blood when they did run the tests. Unfortuantale I forgot the percentage of BGs on drugs, but the number was pretty high.

 

 

Personally I don't know about drugs like Yaba. I never had a BG on Yaba, or much better said I never recognized a BG being on Yaba.*

 

During my last year's short relationship with a BG from Tilac she told me some details about a BG's life. One detail was, that before the BG's start to work they meet and drink some bottles of Whiskey for to "warm up". Sitting in front of Tilac around 5pm I could see the BG's walking in with Whiskey bottles in their hands.

 

*Only once, in Bejing during a LT with a Chinese girl I seriously suspected that the had sniffed something in my bathroom.

Not sure if this is still the case, but many bars used to have buckets with ice and coke - and a liberal amount of whiskey! - in them for the girls to drink.

Ahh, you mean that 18-25 year old TGs commonly drink a bottle of Wiskey before they begin to work?

And that BSs actually like do dance naked and show their P@ssis in front of a bunch of Farang and to that they like to f@ck Farangs (often drunk, mostly several decades older and mostly not most hansum and most sanuk men) ?

I've met girls who are flatout alcoholics, no question, but they arent all complete tosspots. Doesnt make them angels, either, but I wouldnt tar them all with the same drink/drugs brush. Some people can do the gig sober, many cant - I dont think that changes whether its Bangkok or Budapest .....

I find that they need their 14 hours sleep, or it all starts to come apart pretty quickly - I know Farang who can perform the same 'magic trick', but I just cant sleep through a hangover unless I'm still too drunk to regain consciousness until after midday. Even then, I cant go back for more that same night - its like battery acid after I've had a solid hammering.
