I came close a few times of buying one of those tricked out wallets. If you open it up one way - everything looks okay. Open it up another way and it becomes a flamethrower. Stick makes the point that they tend to have better English than many of the girls and seem a lot more openly cynical about the whole Farang nightlife scene - I only know that many of them are serious misogynists and that is never a good look on anyone. Its the smutty schoolboy who never grew up, but wearing a skirt and make-up instead of an orange vest and helmet ... Biggest surprise was when Ms CPs sister, (to my knowledge) never involved in the bar scene in Hua Hin beyond waitress work, introduced us to her Katoey friend. It was a fascinating insight into the pain and ongoing cost of implanting breasts into a chest that was never designed to have them : she was very keen for everyone to feel how 'real' they were, but things were getting out of hand when she offered to show us the surgeon's handiwork further down. I came away thinking 'Great stuff, but no going back - you can get tatts lasered, but you I dont know of anyone who has had a vagina turned back into a working schlong !'. They make life interesting, at least IMO, but the bigger Katoeys are just a nuisance. Surely they could have made money in the gay P4P scene ? There seem to be plenty of latent homos wandering around, and its disappointing to see it being slowly added to hetero TGP porn sites. Probably why they are never impressed when I refer to them as "mate". The "no thanks mate" outside Cassanova comment when walking from Spanky's around to Rainbow 4 never goes down well. My thai is not good enough to understand what they say but I am certain it is extremely derogatory. I remember the night I got pick-pocketed I was telling the owner of Lek Bar up on Soi 5 about the incident and a katoey butted in and said "how you know it was ladyboy? Not all ladyboy same" to which i replied "same way I know you are a ladyboy...now fuck off" Probably not the smartest thing I could have said but was not in the best mood. I guess while there are gullible newbies and punters who desire them they will always be around. The other thing I noticed last trip was the number of Indian guys trying to coax girls from bars to meet them after work to avoid paying barfine. Listened to them do it one night standing next to the bar owner. Fucking idiots. They were given an unpromted message from another guy drinking at the bar of the danger in what they had just done. I've only encountered 1 or 2 who could pull it off. The majority of them just look like men in drag. My understanding is the post-ops consider themselves as real women, though the trannies at Kasetsart Uni a few years ago were demanding separate restrooms - his, hers and its. Individually, they are rarely aggressive, but in a group they can get very fired up (hmm, shades of the Thai male...). I can see their Cheap Charlie ways pissing a lot of people off, and there will inevitably be clashes. That said, I expect that the people who will piss me off more than anyone on my next trip will be people who look a lot like me (albeit younger), and that's just embarrassing.
