Wonder if he grabbed her by the boobs. That's exactly what an acquaintance did on New years Eve in Pattaya of all places, quite a while back, some 14 or 15 years ago, grab a girl by the boobs. The majority of Thais are hospitable, easygoing people but its clear that some don't want anything to do with Farang, much less drunk Farang - how can you possibly know any of that when you approach someone from behind ? Even if you remove any of the 'sexual assault' aspect and assume it was just a platonic hug (work with me here ..), its just bloody annoying to have a drunk try to hug you - drunken fuckwits have had their lights punched out for considerably less. Sure, part of their understanding nature stems from the fact that many Thais know what it feels like to get drunk and stupid, but I've never seen a drunk Thai guy trying to hug a Farang woman - YMMV. I am not a specialist at all. But as far as I understand. It is kind of in-between: You can be guilty, but you will have to pay a small fine. Below a certain sum, the crime is not being registered in public records (which are checked if you are applying for governmental job e.g.).
