why would you buy real gold and spend a lot of money to store it safe. why not a ETF on gold or similar?

Cyber Armageddon. My gold bars and those (Aust Army) ration packs I plan to store in my Pattaya condo will ensure that I stay alive long enough for them to get the servers back online. It will be tough, sitting there with candles and no aircon, but I'm sure the fires in the streets below will throw plenty of light and rioting is always entertaining when your TV wont turn on. :neener:

I've done my research, people.

You could open a branch for the Doomsday Preppers in Patty and sell Farangs stuff they have no idea how to use or is useless and which nevertheless needs to be replaced once in a while. evil-halloween.gif

PS: I guess Issaan farmers have been preppers all along. They know how to feed from the earth, how to use weapons and stick together in times of crisis.

ok, please advise for current time:

buy which stocks or sell generally stocks?

buy gold or sell?

depends which market you are looking at, which country you live in and which tax and other laws apply to you. Personally I wouldn't buy gold at all, and IMO it's a great time to buy other stocks but my situation/goals/country/laws/tax implications are more likely different to yours.

Seek professional advice.

as non-american i do not invest in any us stocks as i do not want to create any tax liability in usa. so remain european or asian stock or gold or whatever
