Mekong
but 2555 is not really a Farang year! It is if you do business with Thai's or have dealings with Thai Judicial system, everything has to be in Buddhist dates.

Mekong
Any government document, Work Permit, Driving License, Car Road Fund Tax, Taliban Rot, Taliban Baan etc, are all based on Buddhist calendar. Strangely private companies such as banks use the Gregorian calendar. Also if you were to go onto thai language web forums (such as Panthip.com) you will notice that 555 is used predominately over LOL.
Horneytorney
Taliban Rot, Taliban Baan haha! that's a good one! whenever I get approached by some South Asian in front of a taylor shop, I ask him, whether he is a Taliban. Shortens the Sales Process immediately!
Redbaron
a Farang concept; no Thai would understand the joke... plenty of thais I know/have met use "5 5 5" as "ha ha ha" - ha is a laugh in any language, especially in things like sms messages/chatboxes erc.
