Curiously, NZ, whilst being at the forefront, in terms of Gay rights/acceptability. And having a disproportionate presence of Gays in Government and positions of power, has yet to come to terms with trannies per se. The many pacific Islands, whose citizens call Auckland home, are more tolerant, there are many 'Fa'afafine' in the seedier parts of town.
