khunsanuk
Hi, Unfortunately that is very true. WW2 was a major catalyst for rocket research for instance. Sanuk!
Mekong
WWII also lead to ISO 9000 / 9001 After the war the alliances agreed to allow Germany and Japan to rebuild their respective industries but without rearming so traceability was installed on all components and materials being supplied to both countries. Initially MIL-Q-9858 became BS 5179 followed BS 5750 and eventually ISO standards, it comes as no surprise that both Germany and Japan are the most successful industrialised nations post-WWII. Another effect has been the ability to trace down terrorists, in the UK the early implementation of BS 5179 was instrumental for tracking down IRA bomb makers from forensic evidence found at the scene of bombings due to traceability of components.
