BelgianBoy
About time we 'got something' to show off our national pride. Unfortunately the various space programs play a 'back seat' to the other things that are considered 'important'. funny !!! we go out in space looking for life, but we cannot stop killing each other on this planet !!! national pride...? Bangkoktraveler
You would think we would be concerned about near Earth misses of meteors that fly by between the moon and Earth.... but we could care less. Seems like Hollywood prevails in letting us believe the 'aliens' are going to get out.

Bangkoktraveler
again i ask,how does this sort of thing affect mankind?. If a near miss gets too close to the Earth we might 'disappear' just like the dinasours.
kamui
again i ask,how does this sort of thing affect mankind?. Not at all - at the moment. Like the Large Hadron Collider which was much more expensive: $4.4bn But mankind always moved on by crossing into new territory, even though immediate gains could not be expected. Crossing into the next frontier is what mankind is all about. If we could eliminate wars.... how much further could we have advance? Maybe a cure for cancer,......
