Car Parts From Abroad

In the process of restoring my car and I need a number of bits and pieces to finish the job. One option I'm looking at is to buy a complete vehicle in the UK and remove the parts from it I need and then sell on the remainder. The following though has somewhat stopped me in my tracks

Does this mean that car restoration in Thailand is no longer viable?

I'm not planning any sort of wholesale import of parts, just the bits, mostly electronics that I need. Given that I buy an entire drivable version of the same vehicle in UK as it will cost for half of the needed parts here in Thailand it would certainly be a viable option.

Ok, so I just found another report

That suggests it is only body parts that have been banned.
