The_Munchmaster
I'm stranded at work at the moment, streets under about 15cm of water and no traffic coming this way. The buildings are full of people wondering if we will get home today. Monsoon storm has been pissing down for hours. You still there?
Flashermac
Finally managed to get out about 5pm. Still drizzling rain, but the streets were draining except for occassional deep puddles. Bumper to bumper traffic, even on the expressway. The long line of tail lights looked like Loy Krathong on the Mae Nam Ping. Finally reached home about 7.30pm, a trip that usually takes no more than 20 minutes. Flashermac
I went through Din Daeng about that time yesterday. Wipawadee was flooded about 20 to 30cm most of the way to Lard Prao. Took 50 minutes to get there from Victory Monument. The police and soldiers were out in knee boots and waders trying to keep traffic moving. Once we got near Lard Prao, the roads weren't even damp. Din Daeng must be one of the lowest parts of the city.
cavanami
Our company office near the Rama 7 bridge got 1m of water and the office is 1m up from the road so the area really got 2m of water! The gov had previously said, "no worries" as they had built retaining walls to stop the flooding...but the wall broke!!! TIT...
