"personality"

I was told a word for personality a year or two ago and I thought I had it written down but I can't find it. I need to know how to spell it in Thai. I can't find what I heard in a dictionary or online but I used it a few times before and I was understood.

Please spell it in Thai. It was something like "ah-cha-ah-sai". I tried that yesterday but girl had no idea what I was trying to say.

Thanks,

Gaw Guy

do you mean อัธยาศัย

a-tha-yaa-sai

this characterize a personality with good manners and friendliness

Yes Horney Sir, You have hit the nail on the head. That's the word I was looking for!

And Mekong, I found that one in the dictionary but it wasn't the one I had heard and couldn't find.

So..As for usage can one say, "Pom chawp a-tha-yaa-sai kawng khun." ?

I would also like to be able to add, "You have such nice happy energy." (gamlang dii, sanook mak ???)

Thank you very much.

used usually with a adjectiv

so for example: chorb athayaasai dee khongkhun

for the second sentence you could use the good old "chivit chivaa"

I don't know "the good old chivit chivaa..." What is chivaa? How spelled in Thai? How would you normally translate the phrase?
