TheCorinthian
Anyone have recent experience? 1 year lease at the shortest. What would about $1000sin (33,000bht) get me? Thanks!
gobbledonk
http://www.stproperty.sg/search-for-rent Given that 1,000 SGD is the second lowest rung on their dropdown, and the first hit was a room in Geylang, it will be interesting to see what you come up with. Vintage_Kwai
Probably around 60,000 - 70,000 baht minimum if you want the apartment to yourself. And it will proably be government-built housing. 20,000 baht will get you a room in someone else's home. I heard one of our ex-staff who just went over is paying about 20,000 baht to share an apartment with four other guys, so will assume the rent is about 100,000 baht. ( I am assuming those prices are per month.)

gobbledonk
I cant see an expat living in Sillypore on anything less than 100K SGD per annum, just as I cant imagine trying to live in Sydney on anything less than 100K AUD. These are expensive cities with stratospheric rents - neither is Tokyo or Shanghai, but compared to BKK .....
huumlaar
Singapore doesn't have to be expensive, it's really quite cheap when you live there is you know where to go etc, if your addicted to the "expat" hangouts, any city is expensive. That said Sydney is just nuts.
