It was about how things were made. One guy and his helper. He would take ordinary machines - household appliances - and take them apart to show how these machines were constructed and I think the principles behind this simple technology. I think that the star or host of show was some sort of professor or expert. I think he always wore a white smock or white coat. It was decades ago that I last viewed this series. The last one I remember is that he took apart a home washing machine to show how it worked. The series was about all types of machines. Each episode was about one or two ordinary household machines. Three hosts: Fred Dinenage, a forgettable woman and Jack Hargreaves, pic below. Hargreaves did the science stuff - the other two were lightweights. The possiblity may be that all are lost. Although not listed here, it appears that many UK TV shows are just missing, negelected, or destroyed.
