Look at the homes these folks are living in.

Some are nice condos and such.

But many continue to call themselves "refugees".

And as such, they continue to claim their property going back to 1948.

One would think that they would run out of "rockets" at some point. Syria is in turmoil. Iran is going bankrupt.

Where do these missiles come from? Some come in by ship. But my guess is that most come from Egypt.

If these folks had any brains they would stop all and open a bunch of casinos. And move on.

Your history isn't too good. The Native American Indians fought against the usurpers for over century, Israel only stole the land in the last 60 years and less, so you can expect a long fight to come.

60years, 100 years, whatever its too late to turn the clock back. israel is tiny in a huge swath of muslim lands, can't they let the jews live in peace?

in years to come israelis can name football teams after palestinians and sell tshirts and caps and stuff like that

... because Israel has a long standing policy of collective punishment. It has had an embargo on the Gaza strip for years, that limits food, medical supplies, and building supplies. Israel on a daily basis humiliates thousands of Palestinians. Israel, to the present day, continues to grab Palestinian land.

All of this fuels the hostility and fills the ranks of Hamas.

Phil, The land you have your house on, used to be owned by my late late late grandfather, I'm coming around to kick you out of your home tomorrow. I'm changing the locks and employing security. The law is on my side so you have fat chance of getting back in, despite what you may try to do. Toodlepip.

On a serious note, the arab nations are loving it, they don't have to house the refugees nor do they have any love for them. They are a political pawn used to frustrate the Israelis.

It's election time in Israel again, same as it was 4 years ago when Israel murdered 344 children. Netanyahu playing the tough guy vote winner.

This present round of hostilities broke out on 5th November when Israeli forces shot dead an unarmed 23 yr old mentally disabled Palestinian man in Gaza near the border fence.

On 12th Nov Hamas offered a ceasefire. Israel responded by assassinating the chief of Hamas's military wing.

Netanyahu will probably get his votes, and the world is already being softened up for a war with Iran.... in which American, British and Australian forces will be asked to send ground troops, but not even an Israeli paramedic will show up, same as in Iraq and Afghanistan.. suckers!

Its not as simple as that. Hamas are notorious for putting their miliatry installations in neighbourhoods with families and children. Israel try and taget military installations - result dead civlilians.

The ceasefire never happened - Arabs were still sending in rockets and mortars despite Israel trying to hold back from retaliating. Its one thing to say there's a ceasefire but another thing to actually impose it with Hamas supporters. Yes Hamas offered a ceasfire, only after it attacked Israel. Thats like someone going to murder a family only to ask forgiveness afterwards.

What you do not see is the constant bombardment of rockets (pretty much daily) being fired by Hamas into Gaza and now Tel Aviv it seems. Both sides are at fault but at least the Israeli's have been trying for peace. Hamas on the other hand are double-faced, saying one thing whilst doing another.

Its down to the Israelis to show restraint and get back around to the negociating table.
