Ura Dick;

Your signature line has a lotta truth in it.. Please don't change it.. :surprised:

As I said, Thai nationals can't be refused entry into Thailand because they've got an expired Thai passport. I know of one Thai who actually worked in Taiwan and whose passport expired while he was there. He boarded the plane back to Bangkok just fine..

Still, holding a US and even an expired Thai passport ain't gonna stop you from getting outta the US. Mostly because seeing as you're a US citizen, you use your US passport to leave. Then you use the expired Thai passport when you hit the ground here in the glrorious "Land 'O Thais"..

We went to Osaka (50 mins by shinkansen), from Nagoya closer than Tokyo.

Thai Embassy staff courteous and efficient. Half an hour and all done.

Wife's new passport, daughter's too.

For minors, both parents have to be present or some complicated legal procedure and forms.

Side note: my wife loved to say - see, Thai as good as Japanese.

Agreed, they were.
