I got a card from Citibank, 150K Baht limit, which is a minimum acceptable.

Kasikorn, they bitched about my signature not matching what is on my passport :dunno:

SCB, said no.

Krungsri (Bank of Ayudhya) never replied at all.

Aeon, they gave me a card with a 50 K Baht limit, so I told them to keep it and cut the card up!

YMMV

Which SCB Siam Commercial Bank or Standard Chartered Bank?

My Siam Commercial was not a real issue, one just has to have funds available making it more like a debit card but it is accepted as a credit card.

Standard Chartered offered me to much credit, I did not want 10,000,000 so I had to open a second account with 500,000 in it

Personally I prefer HSBC, no longer in Thailand but it works the world over

SCB, Siam Commercial Bank.

I have CDs with plenty to cover any credit charges, but they said no.

One of their requirements was to be under 65 years old, which I am, but shows

their mentality :dunno:

My US credit cards have limits of $50K USD, so hello Thailand, wake up!!!

Never question Thai mentality it will drive you insane in no time at all.

My Siam Commercial card is a second card on the wifes account, now I earn at least 10 times more than her but iy had to be in her name, I just dont ask anymore.

Standard Chartered were brilliant, I was like "NO I don't need that much credit" OK it's a British bank so not Thai.

Hong Kong and Shanghai (HSBC) are the best, Oh another British Bank

Bottom line is if you want a credit card in Thailand don't use a Thai bank , the more I think about it if you want to do anything in Thailand use a foreign company, I am getting pissed at banks and Cable TV and I have a Non-Imm O visa and work permit, my days of jumping through hoops are numbered, I have had enough of the shit and now look at alternatives.
