BrownFox77
If the problem tooth is a Molar, then you may need a specialist, an Endodontist. Molars can have like three roots and the fix involves them using very deliicate microsurgery / drilling. I had a bad one maybe 6 years ago, my Dentist in USA said would have to extract, a specialist would cost many thousands he explained, if they could even save the tooth after all that cost (he didn't think the tooth could be saved at all). Went to http://www.silomdental.com/ (all specialists) and their Endodontist got it fixed up for just a few hundred (many hours of drilling, over many days), still have the Molar along with a gold crown they added, all these years later. cavanami
The Endodontist are much, much better then a regular dentist. Faster, better chance of success but usually cost more. The one root canal that I had done was with an Endodontist and I highly recommend them over a dentist.
Flashermac
My wisdom teeth are all gone, which explains a lot of things.
WorldFun
like anything on offer in LOS it's a balance of cost, quality & english proficiency by staff! however with basic thai/experience dealing with non native english speakers I never really wasnt able to get what I needed at any level of medical or dental service provider. I guess I tend to go for the middle level segment mainly - for dentals I always have used the local clinic with every dentist speaking some kind of english clearly - often better than some bamrungrad doctors In the end having a thai female (or thai-chinese if you will) dentisk from somewhat middle to upmarket clinic one cant go half-wrong really

It is a molar. Bottom right rear tooth (not wisdom, that was taken out when I was a teen). Tooth already needed to be addressed, had a cavity and an open area that developed over time, but never painful. Until a couple weeks ago I was eating and something cracked and the pain was fucking awful. Then it subsided. But now it's back and it's constant, pretty sure we're talking infection/abscess. Whatever. Have an appointment with both Thantakit and DentalDesign today, so thanks for the solid input. Serious. (Actually made appointments yesterday but had to bail out a friend in Nonthaburi in some bizarre twist of fate, long story for another time). May check out silomdental also. I'm not quite sure what the dentist will say or if the tooth can be salvaged, I hope it can, but it is a molar and that means 3 or 4 roots (I think). Once again, thank you guys. I've been self medicating with Scotch the past couple nights, but it's funny how something like a toothache can throw your whole life out of rhythm. It's a nasty thing. I want to get it addressed today, regardless. Take care.

I've also had work done (Gold Crown) at the Thantakit clinic and they are excellent too. I've been going to Silom Dental for years now, they are a bit more expensive but I like how the specialists all work together to get you the best results possible. They have newer equipment than any dentist I ever saw in the US. One odd side benefit to all the many Novocaine shots they gave me in the afternoons - was sort of like an aphrodisiac in that by the evening, I was randy as a 19 year old!!! Unless it could've been seeing all the hot, pretty, Dental assistants they had working there :-) Hopefully by the time you read this you've been treated already and maybe they even got you some good pain Meds! bust
Jai Rai I remember the first time I went to the dentist in LOS I made appointments with 3 dentist. Silom Dental some other place and the last was Thantakit. First two appointments were hands in mouth imeadiately blah blah blah needed this and that and one of them had already booked me in, to begin the implants that evening. Thantakit on the other hand did a full medical history before they even sat me in the chair. That is what won me over. I do agree they are a little mor expensive but I have never had a single problem with the work and don't mind paying for peace of mind. They also have a free pick-up and return if you stay in an Amari which I do when I am in town.
Flashermac
I split a molar years ago, chomped down on something and YEOW! Broke the tooth in half, no way to save it. If it's infected, knock of the booze and take amoxicillin.
