radioman
Do x-ray machines still use such materials. Would think they must be all software now. What other industries/processes are still using silver? Electronics uses a lot of silver plating, everything from cable to connectors but just wondering what else might yield reasonable amounts. cavanami
The x-ray film, that is where the silver can be reclaimed from. Printed circuit boards use mostly gold, not much silver.
radioman
So X-ray machines still use film? Yes, pcb's and some connectors do indeed tend to use gold but a lot of connectors are silver plated and a lot of cable is silver plated as well. Not too much gold plated wire out there. Regarding the article you have quoted, it's their own PR. They would have to get the research published in a respectful peer-reviewed journal. I talked with them about it a few months ago and they said soon it will be published. But the last time I have searched I observed till now they didn't achieve this goal. It's not that their products are not good. I have actually got samples from them a year ago and found them to be effective.
