Poster Campaign Launched To Find Surviving Nazis

It does sound a little far fetched, I can just imagine the insurance clerk...

"So we are having 86 death certificates, how many in a box car? And all these Goldbergs, Blumenfelds, Altermans, Friedlanders, Kellermanns and Silversteins haff signed you as the beneficiary, Oberfuhrer Kleinheisterkamp? - Sehr gut Meine kleine Entlein"

My understanding is that insurance companies won't pay out if they can avoid it.

There is a history to Life Insurance that predates WWII Link

"Insurance became far more sophisticated in post-Renaissance Europe, and specialized varieties developed. The will of Robert Hayman, written in 1628, refers to two policies he has taken out with a wealthy Londoner: one of life insurance and one of marine insurance." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_insurance#Modern_Europe

" By 1693, the first mortality table was created using Pascal's triangle and life insurance soon followed." http://www.investopedia.com/articles/08/history-of-insurance.asp

Posted elsewhere also.

One of my university textbooks.

It's been quite awhile back.

I'll attempt to dig it up.

But here is a link I found today.

Note: not from my university textbook.

As far as railroads go. Even if government owned. Bills are still paid even if transferred from one part of government to another.

"That's controversial because Allianz has very famous Nazi ties -- they insured Auschwitz, their CEO was one of Hitler's advisers, and, during the Holocaust, instead of paying life insurance benefits to Jews, they sent that money straight to the Nazis."

My opinion is that a forum, by definition, is a place were members exchange ideas. Hopefully the exchange is conducted peacefully without personal attacks. If I held an opinion on something, say life insurance, I am entitled to hold that opinion. If I was open to changing my opinion about life insurance I would surely consider other opinions posted on this forum.

The last thing I want to happen is for me and my post(s) to be attacked and made fun of repeatedly. JMHO, of course.

Ermmm reading "the link" It seems life insurance existed in Europe before the second world war. In the Roman Empire already it seems :p

waerth,

These claim issues have been going on for years and it is sad to think that somebody could be so ignorant to actually deny that these policies exist. Extremely sad...

In many countries insurance has had better protection from government than banks have.

“IN 1916 William Elsas, 32 years old and a member of a well-off Jewish family from Württemberg, took out a life-insurance policy worth 70,000 gold marks...â€

“Prior to and during the Holocaust, members of the Jewish communities throughout Europe purchased insurance policies, including life, education, and dowry, to provide for their families.â€

“Thousands of aging Holocaust survivors in the U.S. want Congress to clear a path for them to sue European insurance companies they contend illegally confiscated Jewish life insurance policies during the Nazi era and have refused to pay an estimated $20 billion still owed.â€

Boring Sidney... Boring.

Seriously doubt BB desires to glamorize Nazi propaganda, hence we have a picayune debate picking at trivial straws. The logic gets a bit confusing at times -- e.g., Hitler killed millions, Hitler liked dogs. Anyone who likes dogs are evil genocidal maniacs. Doesn't quite work that way.

Anyway, fuck Hitler, enough is enough. Has a single asshole ever been exploited for such monumental bullshit???? I put the question to you Thai360.

Whatever happened to the good old days when people discussed topics on their own merits.

BB and Cock-a-doddle-doo, we all know you don't like each other. Any chance on handling it outside? Back behind the shed or something????
