Nsa Internet-Snooping Program Using Thailand

"The NSA has built a data center large enough to store every phone conversation, text message, and email! Metadata my ..."

The huge data center in question is located in Utah and is up and running. It has been reported but not widely that the data center has the "digitized" recordings of every phone conversations made in the US and from abroad to the US.

Unfortunately, Edward Snowden did not have access to the most secret aspect of NSA activities to provide the American people this information. But I think Obama administration officials are fearful

that Congress with shut down or scale down the Utah operations. Over time, Americans will know the true extent of NSA activities.

Hi,

I don't care how many terrorists - they claim - they caught using this, it is just plain wrong and evil to use such a program. Nobody should have this much power, especially not organizations without strong oversight.

Sanuk!

I'm gonna hazard a guess that there is some sort of treaty involved.

If not, then an agreement.

Sadly, some of the undesirables gravitate to Thailand - and Bangkok.

Not sure why those extremists/radicals/bomb makers hang around Thailand.

But they do.

And of course there is the local Thai extremists. Got to keep an eye on them locally.

So all helps Thailand too.

There are no secrets anymore. Before all of this - it was "hackers" who were peeping into your emails and computers. So now in addition to the "hackers" it is the government. Whether US or US with Thai connections.

I had the opportunity to visit Thailand before the proliferation of the personal computer.

What a sweet time back then.

But without the computer/internet and Nanaplaza/thai360 I would have never personally met with some of the outstanding punters posting on this forum. Over at Gullivers. How long ago was that?

One punter gathered there claimed to be a "mechanic" for a US airline. He appearance was that of a shady character. Easily could have been a government "spy".

Cause it's easy, the local BIB are next to useless in these matters, they have to wait until after the crime is committed, so they have a photo or a witness to point out the perps to them....

Law-enforcement officials in the U.S. are expanding the use of tools routinely used by computer hackers to gather information on suspects, bringing the criminal wiretap into the cyber age.

Federal agencies have largely kept quiet about these capabilities, but court documents and interviews with people involved in the programs provide new details about the hacking tools, including spyware delivered to computers and phones through email or Web links—techniques more commonly associated with attacks by criminals.

People familiar with the Federal Bureau of Investigation's programs say that the use of hacking tools under court orders has grown as agents seek to keep up with suspects who use new communications technology, including some types of online chat and encryption tools. The use of such communications, which can't be wiretapped like a phone, is called "going dark" among law enforcement.

A spokeswoman for the FBI declined to comment.

The FBI develops some hacking tools internally and purchases others from the private sector. With such technology, the bureau can remotely activate the microphones in phones running Google Inc.'s Android software to record conversations, one former U.S. official said. It can do the same to microphones in laptops without the user knowing, the person said. Google declined to comment.

The bureau typically uses hacking in cases involving organized crime, child pornography or counterterrorism, a former U.S. official said. It is loath to use these tools when investigating hackers, out of fear the suspect will discover and publicize the technique, the person said.

The FBI has been developing hacking tools for more than a decade, but rarely discloses its techniques publicly in legal cases.

As I recall, some of the 9-11 terrorists had stayed at the Grace Hotel. The original plan was for them to hijack airliners flying from Singapore to the USA and target buildings in California. For some reason that was dropped, and they entered the US as tourists (or whatever) and did it from there.

I may have been on the same plane as these terrorists on a flight to/from Sillypore.

These four or five Arab guys were constantly getting up and going to the front or back of the plane.

They were not using the washrooms. At times they took their carry-ons with them.

Was very strange but this was pre-9/11 so didn't sound any alarms.

I think this was in Nov/Dec and late in Dec, these same guys were picked up in Singapore

as they intended to bomb a ship that I had been working on!
