Lotsa rumors about Fabregas to Chelsea. Barca are willing to sell him. The interesting thing is its not because he's not playing well. One of the strangest reasons. The fans don't like him. Seems the fans have never forgiven him for leaving as a teenager and he's been booed a bit when they were dropping down the table. Stats wise he's been doing well even if its not as a starter.

Anyway, Arsenal have first rights of refusal but the story is Wenger won't take him back. Maybe its because we have too many players in that position or maybe its like when Anelka left and he's never forgiven him. Another issue is that Arsenal gets a big sell on amount if he goes to another team and the rumor is Mourinho doesn't want Arsenal to make money. Over 28 million is when it kicks in. Fabregas is worth well over that but Chelsea wants him for 27 millin so Arsenal will not get any money...all stories but that's what the papers are saying. Another story is Morata, from RM may be coming on a year long loan with an option. Lotsa rumors.

Soccer and football are the same but the USA came up with the word soccer to differentiate true football as the rest of world knows it from their own American Football which is the most boring stupidest game in the world and which like baseball is designed by the USA to make sure that it can be screened to maximise advertisement time with loads of breaks. It also enables them to host the equivalent of the football World Cup, such as the world series in baseball and always be guaranteed to win the thing and always have it in their own country. Sepp Blatter would hate that as he wouldn't be able to fill his bank account with bribe money.

In NZ football refers to Rugby, soccer to the beautiful game. This is because Rugby is the more popular game, suited to the larger more muscly types, that NZ blokes tend to be. Soccer on the other hand is played by slimmer, 4 foot tall chaps, of which we don't have many.

Believe it or not, American (and Canadian) football "developed" from Rugby at colleges and universities in the late 19th century. What went wrong? :(

<< American football evolved in the United States, originating from the sport of rugby football. The first game of American football was played on November 6, 1869, between two college teams, Rutgers and Princeton, under rules resembling rugby and soccer. A set of rule changes drawn up from 1880 onward by Walter Camp, the "Father of American Football", established the snap, eleven-player teams and the concept of downs, and later rule changes legalized the forward pass, created the neutral zone and specified the size and shape of the football. >>

Real football (aka soccer) is played at US universities, but has a very small following.
