Vietnam Internet Restrictions Come Into Effect

I would not take anything published by RT at face value, since it is influenced by the Russian government, and I am only too aware where Russia stands on this issue.

Also, a statement made by a congressman from Michigan may not be so independent, it may mirror the opinion of a somewhat Syrian-leaning constituency, or not. Michigan has one of the largest Arab-American population in the US.

I would not blame Vietnam government. They can do what everyone wants to do, just without being responsible to their electorates.

Which parent does not want porn removed from the net? Or at least heavily restricted access.

Politics? In China, whoever wants to read can find a way to get into any site on the planet. True, some Internet knowledge is needed but what the paupers would do with it anyway, even if spread in front of them?

Of course you've correct. ANY news source that does not want to bomb Syria must be ignored.

TTM,

Did you read the original post, the restrictions have nothing to do about porn but about using Social Media such as Twitter and Facebook to which are anti Socialist Republic of Vietnam, come on its only Communist Vietnam we are talking about not Cameron's Capitalist's UK where the nanny state has to block porn because parents are incapable of setting filters.

All things being equal I will be able to test out this new policy in 3 weeks time if they accept me and I relocate to Vietnam, I am well prepared as always, VPN's set up and TOR, but they will be in encrypted files when / if I fly into Hanoi on my laptop, External HDD, Thumb drive and even my iPhone (Yes a Jailbroken iPhone can be used for storage via USB.

Thank you, cockasian, but I must listen my co BM coss and not drift into this Vietnamese thread. :nono:

You're completely correct.

Coss....I am sorry for taking your thread off topic. It was thoughtless of me and any stress this caused to you or Plainsdrifter was unintentional.

I have nothing to add about Vietnam other than to say that the women can be extremely hot.

Plainsdrifter....check out the new Syria Thread. Thread hijacks are welcome there....thread hijacks of a sexual nature are strongly encouraged for those who have nothing to say about Syria.
