Boo Radley
Scary. Was just reading about that. Some English reports described it as a waterspout but the school, Satreeprasertsin Girls' School in Tambon Wang Krachae, Amphoe Meuang Trat seems to be located 2 miles inland, so was more likely a mini tornado. http://news.sanook.c...ตราด-เจ็บ-9-คน/
Flashermac
Lucky it was a very mild one.
Pescator
I too experienced a severe storm while living in a front beach hut on koh Chang in Trat. The temperature dropped like a rock and so did all the coconuts from the palm trees. Several golden flying snakes lost their grip in the palm trees and dropped to the ground. The ocean leve rose dramatically and this is what the beach hut looked like the next morning.

Pescator
Yes, the beach had vanished and we were damn lucky that the level of the ocean did not rise more than it did, as we stayed in the hut with the blue towel hanging from a string on the porch. It would have been a very unpleasant way to wake up during the wee hours of the night.
