Flashermac
PDRC protesters besiege Defence Permanent Secretary's Office Hundreds of protesters led by the People's Democratic Reform Committee besieged the Office of the Permanent Secretary for Defence Ministry Monday to force the caretaker government from using it as an office. Initially, some 500 protesters led by Chumpol Julasai, Natthapol Thipasuwan and Sokonthee Phatthiyakul arrived at the office at noon. Troops guarding the office set up three layers of barbwires to prevent protesters from storming inside. Leaders of the protesters demanded that Gen Niphat Thonglek stop allowing caretaker Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra to use the office as her temporary office. At noon, Phutthipong Puttipong Punnakan led several hundreds more of protesters and state enterprise unionists to join the rally. http://www.nationmultimedia.com/breakingnews/PDRC-protesters-besiege-Defence-Permanent-Secretar-30225902.html
cavanami
These people need some firm direction about what they need to be doing and what goal they are trying to reach and exactly how they intend to reach the goal. All that is going on seems like a ship just aimless drifting along
Plainsdrifter
Their goal is simple; Chase Yinluck and her family out of Thailand". If they accomplish that goal, they will ponder their next goal.
Flashermac
The whistle blowers are a coalition of various groups with different views, some of them conflicting with the others. What binds them together is the common desire to end the Shinawatra family's using Thailand as if it were their own private business. That is probably the main reason for the ambiguity in what they want for the future. Once the Shinwatra power control, expect them to go back to their own separate ways. p.s. I am fascinated that Thirayuth Boonmee, the famous radical student leader from the 1970s, is siding with the whistle blowers. I bet that really pisses of Thida, who loves to flaunt her own considerably lesser credentials as a student who once fled to the communists in the jungle.
