bust
Forgot about this incident. Here's a heads up. On my last arrival at Suvarnabhumi made the usual trip downstairs to the metered taxi stand. Short wait finally got my driver, jumped in my cab no drama. As we started to pull away from the terminal I glanced up front and couldn't see the meter. I called to the driver "meter" and the he pulled away a small piece of cloth that had been covering the meter. So we had gone maybe 100 meters and the meter already showing 57 baht. WTF Prompltly told him to re-set which he did without an word. I wonder how many do this and get away with it.
YimSiam
Not to mention the various circuitous routes taken due to the Suthep gang... Coming in from the airport a few weeks ago, I saw parts of the city I didn't even know existed. I may have even been in Cambodia, not sure! But the meter kept running... Flashermac
Coming from the airport, you should have seen very little difference due to the "Suthep gang".
YimSiam
Yep, but first time since the protests started - who am I to argue? Anyway, Jomtien is nice this time of year, and it's been ages since I passed through Nong Bualamphu... So not a total loss...
Flashermac
My wife once got rather worried coming home from the airport, since the driver took her through Banglampoo ... and I live almost in Nonthaburi! She was afraid to say anything, since the driver had an open knife lying next to him. .
bust
She was afraid to say anything, since the driver had an open knife lying next to him. . Probably a smart move. I have had some odd trips to Sukhumvit from airport but now know enough to keep them on the right journey.
