Missed Call

How do you say, "I saw a missed call from you." Also, "I don't have that number." Then I ask "What is your name?" I know that one.

I looked at google translate for the first one and got: ผมเห็นสายจาà¸à¸„ุณ. Really? Is "Sai jak khun" a "call from you." What do Thai phones use where we have "missed call."

Thanks,

GG

I'd interpret ผมเห็นสายจาà¸à¸„ุณ as meaning "I saw your number" ... more or less admitting you'd missed her call. I'm not sure how to say what you want. I'd talk around it ... "You called and I wasn't in" ... or something to that effect. Maybe even just ask ... "Did you call?"

Memories of calling on campus when I taught upcountry (translated into English) ...

Me: "Is Archan So-and-so in?"

Answer: "No, he's not." (Klunk, hung up on me.)

Another time ...

Me: "Hello."

Caller: "Is Archan So-and-so there?"

Me: "No, he's not."

Caller: "Then why did you answer the phone?"

Plus numerous variations of the above ... :banghead:
