Flashermac
Victory Monument access closed to traffic. As far as I know, you can walk through it though. p.s. That video is from 2010, army going in to open areas shut down by the red shirt demonstrators and end the demonstrations. Notice the burning tyres/tires? The official, 42-year-old Miss Panmanee Chuchao is among a group of anti-coup protesters who assaulted soldiers at Victory Monument and are wanted by the arrest warrant issued by the Bangkok Military Court for illegal assembly, and assaults. Police said she sprayed an Army Humvee truck with paints during a disorderly incident at the Victory Monument on May 28. She was awaiting answer if the court martial would grant her temporary release on bail.
Flashermac
"Foreigners staying at hotels in Ratchaprasong area will be provided with escort service to hotels at police chekpoints" That's thoughtful. Only in Thailand would the police provide escort services for tourists. I wonder how much the girls cost.
