Mass Police Transfer In New Purge At Royal Thai Police Force

BANGKOK: -- Sixteen senior police officers in redshirt infested provinces of Pathum Thani, Nonthaburi, Chonburi, Chiang Mai, Khon Khaen, Udon Thani, and Bangkok were transferred Tuesday to inactive posts at the Royal Thai Police head office.

 

They were ordered to report to the Special Action Operation Centre at the head office at 4.00 p.m. on Wednesday.

 

Signing the immediate transfer order was the acting commissioner of the Royal Thai Police Pol Gen Watcharapol Prasarnratkit.

 

The order just explained that the transfer was to facilitate the Royal Thai Police to support the National Council for Peace and Order to efficiently maintain keep peace and order in the country.

 

Immediately transferred included Zone 3 Provincial Police Commissioner Pol Lt Gen Thirasak Klinpongsa, Chiang Mai police commander Pol Maj-Gen Krich Kitilue, Chonburi police commander Pol Kacha Thatsart, Khon Kaen police commander Pol Maj-Gen Chob Kisalang, Nonthaburi police commander Pol Maj-Gen Tanayuth Wuthicharasdamrong, Samut Prakarn police commander Pol Maj-GenThatchai Hongthong, Udon Thani police commander Pol Maj-Gen Boonlue Kobangyang

 

Earlier the military junta also purged nine provincial governors in these provinces.

 

On order signed by Mr Vibul Sangunpong, the permanent secretary of the Interior Ministry, Mr Somsak Suwannajit, the governor of Khon Kaen is transferred to be inspector-general of the Ministry of Interior, and replaced by Chai-nat governor Mr Kamthorn Thawornsathit.

 

Saraburi governor Mr Suthipong Julcharoen will take the helm of Chai-nat, while Mr Wichian Putthiwinyu, governor of Chiang Mai will replace Mr Suthipong in Saraburi.

 

Tak governor Suriya Prasartbundit will take the position of acting governor of Chiang Mai, while Mr Somchai Hatayatanti, an Interior Ministry’s inspector-general will replace him.

 

Nakhon Ratchasima governor Winai Buapradit will be transferred to Phatthalung province while Mr Thongchai Lue-adul, governor of Burirum province will replace him as governor of Nakhon Ratchasima.

 

The governor of Phatthalung Seri Srihatrai will become governor of Buriram province.

 

The transfer order will take effect from June 2.
