Flashermac
A friend is having a terrible time with Thai laptop repair shops. One of them reformated his HD and added all sorts of programs he doesn't want. Also, his is a Dell purchased in the UK ... with a UK keyboard. Some of the keys no longer function with the version of Windows the shop added. Surely, there must be at least one dependable shop in all of Bangkok. Flashermac
He is extremely pissed off, since when he bought the laptop in Blighty, the Dell people assured him it could be serviced anywhere in the world. He specifically asked about Thailand and insisted it was. But when something went wrong, Dell told him that model wasn't sold here and they would not service it! Guest
Same happened to my boyfriend when he purchased a htc mobile phone here in Thailand, on a return trip the mobile went faulty htc service in UK would not honour guarantee. As regards the del : It has been loaded with an illegal copy of windows, and incorrect keyboard mapping. Best to try another copy from another shop Try Pan Tip Plaza , Phet Buri Road many shops, should be able to fix there.

cavanami
When you walk in Pan Tip, the door near the elevators, there is (was?) a good repair shop straight ahead, to the left of the shop that does printing. There was a Japanese looking young Thai man that does they good work. I have used them several times in the past. Haven't been to Pan Tip in over one year, so YMMV...
