Flashermac
And no visa renewal if there is less than 6 months remaining. I had to get a new passport for that reason last month.

Mekong
Thanks. I am guessing same applies in Cambodia. Yes http://www.worldtrav...a/passport-visa As a rule of thumb 6 Months Validity is required whenever passport presented to immigration officials either entering the country or extending a visa as in Flash's case. Coss
And the exception to the rule, I've been in and out of LOS at Nong Khai three times with less than 6 months on the passport but then I have a 1 yr visa in Laos. My initial nervousness has been replaced with a gentle respect for the Immigration people up here, they are reasonable.
Flashermac
I had a colleague who used to renew his visa each year in Nong Khai instead of Bangkok, until Immigration decided you had to go where you lived. He said there were no lines and the Immigration police were always friendly. Bangkok Immigration is much better than it used to be. I used to dread going there, since every time you went they had come up with a new rule. There was one old female sergeant we called the Dragon Lady. But the last visa renewal took me about an hour, the one before that even less.
