Guest
The highest average IQs are found among the Oriental countries of North East Asia (average IQ = 104) followed by the European nations (average IQ = 98), and the mainly White populations of North America and Australasia (average IQ = 98). Further behind are the countries of South and Southwest Asia, from the Middle East through Turkey to India and Malaysia (average IQ = 87), as are the countries of South East Asia and the Pacific Islands (average IQ = 86), and Latin America and the Caribbean (IQ = 85). Lowest are the countries of Africa (average IQ = 70)

Guest
I have seen the odd posts that sometimes imply that Asians are less intelligent compared to westerners and wondered if that was in fact true.
Flashermac
How about the average IQ for politicians.
Guest
Yes ....... but maybe an IQ test for voters might be more appropriate
StoneSoup
Well, by definition, the "average" IQ of everyone combined should be 100. It seems unlikely that a pure intelligence measurement would result in such varying local norms. Presumably, the content of the intelligence test is biased - probably toward urban, academic, modern lifestyle. What is "intelligence"? A combination of information, knowledge, understanding, and wisdom Cheers! SS
Specialist
According to a friend's writing, a guy who DOES know what he's talking about in this arena: At last report, there were something like 35 different IQ tests. Some of them do not use language. ("Which picture is unlike the others?") All of them are strongly autocorrelated. All of them are strongly cross-correlated. The first means that they are measuring something real and intrinsic. The second means that they are, directly or indirectly, measuring the same something real and intrinsic. That's about the most that you can say today without spawning a lynch mob.

Redbaron
Some countries *may* be only letting certain citizens take the test, therefore artificially showing their country in a brighter light... Which *could* imply NE Asians are the most dishonest when it comes to IQ tests. Africans, South Americans results show the test may be skewed toward English, or delivered in a way which is not easy for them - the rest about right at 100 odd.
