cavanami
<<DO a google for Ted Nugent. USA rock musician and an avid hunter. Why, to get fresh meat, without the chemicals they use in domestic meats.>> Well in Oz that doesn't work for Rabbits, you have to kill them, cut them open, check the liver, then decide if it's worth eating In the warm summer months, no one hunted rabbits because they often had fever sickness. The cold weather came and killed off the fever bug...or at least that was the story we got
cavanami
You can buy organically grown beef, chicken, pork, venison, etc. You have no idea what chemicals a deer has consumed (fertilizers, pesticides, and herbicides). Elk from high in the mountains would be much better then unknown "organically grown", IMO. I have never hunted beef, but used to go well out into the farmlands and could buy excellent beef where the farmer I knew raised it himself and ate the same. He would give me a heads up and I would go over and pickup a side of beef that he had raised...and it was great beef!!!
Coss
There are wild beef in the mountainous hills in the Taranaki region here in Middle Earth, every now and again someone makes a TV 30 minutes of hunting these Bulls. You have to helicopter them out.
