The reason I have a life, is the free health care my countrymen provided me when my heart went wrong. Whilst I understand the attitude, "Why should I pay for his dinner?", I would rather help those who genuinely need help, if I am able to do so.

Solidarity is just tribalism, "all us folks stick together to oppose some other folks'.

Whilst socialism as defined by the world's current narrative and in it's purest form, doesn't work, you are correct, here, large chunks of socialism are responsible for the relatively free education in most advanced nations, just one example.

Don't want to argue socialism or not, but if you're interested, research NZ and Australia, see how much the taxpayer provides to the rest of society, good? or not?

no worries coss, here in Belgium we have the same free health and education system, alas abused by many and paid by the taxpayer.

I contributed all my life, to me that is solidarity.

socialism on the other side is using the taxpayers' money to subsidise things that should not be subsidised, bread, gas, transport, etc.....

two different things.....

maybe you confuse solidarity for socialism ?

I am all for solidarity, not for socialism.

In this as in so many other threads you are the one who is confused.

You are not better than any person on this board. Our lives, like our opinions, also have value and are equal to your life and your opinions. Our opinions are possibly superior to yours in that most on this board have actual experience living in Thailand – something you've never done.

In some sick and twisted fucked up way the fact that you consider us lesser humans -still human but a lower human than you - is actually better than what your opinion of Thai people is.

Of course that makes me a bully but I've always found racism revolting. Your racism is particularly repulsive and offensive given the elite hiso Thai status you've managed to achieve without the actual inconvenience of living in Thailand.

Coss,

You were not confusing solidarity or socialism as among educated people, which you clearly are, there is a line.

So now that the AUTHORITY ON ALL THINGS has declared that subsidies should not be for bread and transport.....it is just not worth arguing about.

I don't know if you were around much during the time frame when Boy was banned. It was like Woodstock around here – filled with peace, brotherly love, good cheer. People cared about one another, offered friendly and helpful advice, met up on a regular basis. Nude hippie girls danced with flowers in their hair while Grace Slick and the Jefferson Airplane never stopped playing with more sex than Woodstock. This was, without a single doubt, the friendliest board of all Thai boards.

Then he came back.... still bitter, still confused. This last year now lashing out at Thais in addition to the years of lashing out at the rest of the board. People leave when he lashes out. I did and know several others who have as well. The freedom of speech here is unique among Thai boards- you can DISAGREE WITH THE BOARD OWNER and it is not taken personally. Try that on other boards.

We are completely free to make total asses out of ourselves if we want to! As I don't recall you doing that yourself may I suggest two quick double vodka drinks....then post as you are starting your third.

A bit of good news for us that drive on the outer ring road, west of the river...they have opened the 3rd lane below the BTS

station near Nonthonburi!

They are still doing a little work but doesn't slow the traffic much!

They are not finished with the work for the shops, maintenance center there...looks to be some months/years off :dunno:

I expect soon they will continue the extension northward, so more jammed traffic and slooooooooooooow construction...
