Kiwi
Leaving - to go where? No country has green pastures on both sides! I reside in a country where the green pastures have been fading for the past 20 years!
torrenova
I left for education of next generation as LOS doesn't have anything anywhere near good enough when it comes to cutting the international standard. What they call "international schools" are just the best of the rest. I will return in a few years, likely permanently again but with feet up, a pool in the garden and fuck all on the agenda. Flashermac
The top "international schools" are all right ... if you can afford tuition of from 500,000 to one million baht a year per child.
My Penis is hungry
Agreed, the top ones are as good as anywhere, the middle ones, so-so. I was very happy with the little Brit little known school I sent my kids too, great class sizes 10 kids er class, great teachers, for kindy to grade to year 7, fantastic, better than anything in Australia for attention to student etc. However I am sure the owners would have loved classes twice or more bigger! And for high school, it lacked a lot! Now for one of the "Big name" schools, yep, great quality, down side is the kids your kids mix with
Flashermac
... with what? Reptilian aliens? Cyborgs? Rich "do you know who my daddy is" brats?
My Penis is hungry
Correct - though to be fair, some I met are quite smart, independent, most though, are similar to private schools anywhere in the world And at a primary level, not much of an issue, at high school level, I don't want my kids in that environment.
cavanami
I'll say it again....school starts at home! I have seen hi-so children with Ma and Pa spending the 500,000/year/child and they barely could speak English... and Pa was a farang speaking English in the home! WTF!!! I have also seen children in Khon Kaen public schools doing trig and calculus at 15 ~ 16 y.o. It all starts and is reinforced at home, IMO...
