Koh Tao Murders

On a more serious note - vis the Russian Girl going missing - I hope she's not a victim of foul play.

But if she is, where is that fellow who jumped on the ferry (CCTV footage missing) mere hours after the murder of David Miller, and Hannah Withering and fled to Bangkok?

I may be an internet cynic, but I smell a pattern developing.

Police are stepping up their efforts to locate a missing Russian woman who disappeared from Koh Tao more than two weeks ago.

Twenty three year old Valentina Novozhyonova was staying at the Koh Tao Hostel hotel where she checked in on February 11th. She was due to leave on the 16th.

A considerable time passed before the owner of the hotel became suspicious. Napha Sanethip eventually went to check her room and found her phone, camera and passport but no trace of the occupant.

The owner went to report her missing to the police.

A Russian by the name of Sergey Busagin has also been in touch with police about the missing woman after he was asked to look into the matter by a friend.

Now the police have made an appeal to the public for help. Koh Tao police can be called on 077-456098.

Valentina is 170 cms tall and was due to go to Koh Samui after Koh Tao. Daily News reported that her favorite pastime is swimming.

Koh Tao has never been far from the news after the murder of two British tourists in 2014 for which two Burmese immigrants were convicted and are currently on death row.

An online appeal for information about Valentina was reportedly started by relatives in Russia who have had no contact with her for over two weeks.

Get get's off with the execution of the myanmar duo, so goes and does it again?

I find the Myanmar illegals pretty distressing, a lot of young people

No mention of who owns the factories these kids were destined for.

The fish industry here in Samut Sakhon, so the story goes...200 Chinese families moved to this area and started fish businesses

some 100 years ago ro so.

Today, all the factories and fishing are still owned by what are now Thai-Chinese. They are extremely rich. The new generations

from the 200 families all drive Benz, BMW and other hi-so cars.

We will see how interested the new generation is in the family businesses...

There are touts operating openly here to get the Myanmar to work on the boats and in the factories...

The bone and flesh parts found in the sea off Koh Tao are not human, initial tests indicate.

The parts were taken by helicopter to a police testing facility in Surat Thani where the initial observations showed they were not connected to missing Russian woman Valentina Novozhyonova.

As divers continued to search the bay where she is thought to have gone, police are now waiting for the return to Thailand of her "dive buddy". He is a Russian national who is presently in the Philippines, reported Daily News.

Testing of an item of clothing for DNA is also currently taking place.

Dive teams from Koh Tao Resort were scouring a 400 meter section of the bay yesterday. A blue snorkel was found and some more cloth but these are old and not thought to be connected to the inquiry.

Koh Tao police said that all options remain open in the enquiry - they have not ruled out crime, accident or that Valentina has simply gone missing somewhere and might still be alive.

Though they said yesterday that with 23 days passed since she was last seen that last possibility is fading.

Apichart Bunsrirot, the governor of Surat, confirmed Friday that initial tests showed that bone and flesh found earlier was of animal origin and was not human. DNA testing on a singlet is still ongoing and inconclusive.

A mask was also taken for testing to the mainland but has proved to be of little help.
