Yesterday, I walked past the site of the new Soi 11 branch of the El Gaucho Steakhouse, which appears to be nearing completion.  Its style is very similar to the original version on Soi 19.

The Soi 11 version is on the small Soi that connects Soi 11/1 to Soi 11 - with a long veranda facing the side-soi, and only a  small frontage actually facing onto Soi 11 itself - directly across the street from the Zanzibar outdoor restaurant.

Cheers!

Ate there last night with a British friend.  Identical menu to Soi 19 version.  Outstanding service - all Filipino - excellent food, and the same $$$$$$$$$$$$ as the Soi 19 original.

Going back many years, the only steakhouse was the one at the Marriott? Did you ever go there? That one I loved, thinking about it, pricing wasn't that different.

That would be the New York Steakhouse.  I was hosted there a couple of times over the years.  Impeccable service.   Left a vapor trail of $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ - but I was a guest off others.

El Gaucho food is fully comparable - but venue is more casual.

Cheers!

That's it! I hosted two meals there, and ate at the expense of others a few times, was very good.

Never tried that one, but the roof top of Landmark I went a few times, not as good as New York steakhouse, was good, not exceptional

That sounds like the spot that used to hold the fish restaurant, with the big tanks.  Vacant for years now...
